So a few days ago I got this nice email from Youtube, with my 2020 Year in Review, which is assume is a bit like Spotify’s year end statistics, but this is for my content creation on Youtube. The email interface is pretty cool, and it showed me a lot of cool statistics about this year.

Nice Email

So 2020 was super nice for me, since staying inside has enabled me a lot more time and freedom to create a lot of nice content! It has been super fun making content for all sorts of things, from unboxings to tutorials to reviews, and more, I have definitely created a ton of content this year!

There were some ups and downs however, especially in August when I was feeling very depressed about my content statistics. They were not meeting my standards, and I realized that people who I send links to my content to (so hopefully they can watch and support me) are not really opening it nor viewing it. I even wrote a Medium post talking about how hard it is mentally that nothing is working.

However, I was able to take a brief break (or a brief retirement) in September, as I even informed my fans about it. But luckily, by the end of November, I was starting to ramp back up in content, since it was pretty cool and fun. School was a bit bothersome along with other activities in my life, but content creating was nice and fun, and I was able to average over a video a day over the last month.

So now onto my year in review according to my email. It starts out with saying that I joined youtube over 3000 days ago. Wow! That is about 8.5 years long! It has been quite impressive, from my very first video on Pokemon Rumble Blast Arceus that got over 6000 views to the videos I do today that is about tier lists.

It also seems like I got 159 likes over all the uploads I have ever made! Although it may not be that many since I have over 159 videos, I am still happy that some fans are interacting with my content!

The next statistic is on comments and sharing my videos. It seems like my fanbase has shared it 51 times. No idea how they got the number; maybe it is from specific share links, but it is pretty cool. Also 105 comments is awesome, since I get fan interaction which is very cool! Although some friends are always very nice and leave supporting comments at the end of all my videos, I am still grateful for my community that I have grown!!! < 3

Finally, stats that are specific to 2020.

I gained 12 subscribers and 6533 new views! That was AMAZING! I never knew how much my channel grew this year! 12 subscribers is roughly a 33% growth from the year prior! That is so good, given how long I have been periodically making Youtube videos!

I also gained over 6500 new views! I cannot believe how many people are watching my videos. Although a few here or there can be bots, I am pretty sure a lot of people are real people that watched my videos!

I also got 7218 minutes watched in my videos in 2020! That is a lot as well! However, to monetize videos, you need at least 4000 hours, which is basically 24000 minutes. I am about 30% of the way there (along with 1000 subscribers), which is not too bad in terms of views! I know I must somehow grow my subscribers now if I want to monetize my videos soon!

I also got 96 likes in my videos! Although it is not too many relative to the amount of videos created, I am still very happy that some people are liking my content! It really motivates me to create more and more. I am very happy that 2020 has been a positive tone for my content creating, given how many more videos I have uploaded, and all the positive stats I am being rewarded from that :).

Overall, I really hope that I can put more time into content creating next year in 2021. Hopefully I can get closer to 1000 subscribers to become monetizable, and make more videos with similar themes or create some unique themes that will net me more subscribers! I really hope that I can be very motivated to improve myself as a content creator, and create the top quality content that can get me to the top one day!
