So in 2015 I started to take running more seriously, as well as started buying a lot more different types of shoes, since I was starting to exercise more (towards the middle and end of the year). Since it was the beginning of such a time of purchases, this post will be about the different types of footwear that I wore this year.

Winter boots

I do not really remember which winter boots I used. But up until 2018, I wore winter boots every year during the winter time, due to the weather. However ever since then, I did not really find the need for winter boots. I think they were slightly tight and heavy, like usual winter boots so it’s overall not that nice.

Rebook (some random running shoe)

I got these running shoes around 2014 and wore them a lot, as my main running shoes a lot for exercising as a backup mostly this year. But I wore it a lot casually since it was relatively worn out. It’s cushioning was just average for a discount running shoe, and it was just an average shoe.

Under Armour MicroG Monza

These shoes were also on a discount rack, and it was my very first pair of under armour shoes. It looked really cool in the beginning and the cushioning looked so cool.

I wore it mainly during the one week cruise vacation, since it was very versatile, and it was really nice to exercise in. My running journey also begun in these shoes, running around 5km every day in them. It was very nice, and the cushioning was good enough for a beginner like me.

Overall, I loved using those shoes. The grip was decent overall.

Adidas Isolation Basketball Shoes

These were my very first pair of basketball shoes ever! I got these in 2014, when I started to play basketball more and more. These were casual, on sale and very basic basketball shoes. It had mid ankle support, and decent cushioning overall. No complaints really, just a great basic pair of basketball shoes.

It also doubled nicely as uniform shoes for school since it was black as well. Overall these shoes were very nice and lasted a very long time as well. So I got them in 2014 and I wore them a lot in 2015, playing a lot of outdoor basketball in the summer (almost every day for an hour).

Nike Hyperfuse 2011 Low

These were my very first pair of nike basketball shoes, and these shoes were pretty decent, with better technologies in them. It is close to NBA-worthy to be worn (these were above average compared to casual basketball shoes). Although they were not high tops or anything, I was not super prone to ankle injuries, so they still worked nicely, especially for indoor play towards years later in the future.

I got these in July 2015 when they had a really big sale and I got this for like $45. They were nice since the cushioning was quite responsive (but also firm as well. It was not as plush, but they were a very nice pair, with good structure. Overall, I used these up to 2018, when I got the PG1's.

Adidas (Costco) Running Shoes

My parents got me these shoes around the beginning of 2015, where I used these mainly for uniform shoes for the next 1.5 years, since they were quite comfortable, and was great all-around. The Adidas basketball shoes mentioned above were also nice for uniform shoes, but sometimes they were a bit too heavy, and too much cushioning and ankle support makes it lose a bit of versatility.

Unfortunately, I do not know the specific model of these shoes (might be the very first Duramo models?), especially since Costco has sold around a dozen different Adidas running shoes over the last 5 years at a nice price.

These shoes were solely used casually, and it took a long time to wear out. I like these shoes since they were great and reliable all around. It could be used for exercising, but I had better ones of course. But overall, these were nice shoes.

So overall, these shoes are the shoes that I used during 2015. Overall, it was a few basketball shoes since I played basketball a lot during this time. And a pair of reliable running shoes (kind of for my beginner skill level) as I began my running and exercising life.
