A November to Remember!

A PERFECT 71 hours of exercising in one month….. :)

Today’s the first day of December 2020. But looking back at November, it was truly a very very good month! A lot of nice things happened overall, but I am going to mostly focus on exercising this month.

My Strava Training Calendar

Taking a look at my training calendar, there were practically no days off in November! 71 hours of exercising in total (average over 2h20 min exercising per day). Though some things such as basketball, strength training, and others are not really factored in; only running and indoor cycling.

Cycled every day in November

Because I took no days off, I did indoor cycling every day. I made a post earlier about how it is so fun. And yeah, it was indeed. Most sessions were over an hour long which was nice, and mostly Zone 1! Just basically building a easy aerobic engine with the effort!

Building up Running

As shown in the training calendar above, I ran 243 miles for the month. This is my highest total since June, which says a lot, since I declined a bit since July because of my right knee.

Mileage Bar Graph

I ran around 66 miles last week, the final week of November. It was pretty easy, thanks to all the buildup (usually it would be around a month after I take some off time, but this time I decided to take it very slowly). It was a constant build from around 40 miles a week, up to this 66. I think this is a good distance to keep around, then introduce speedwork in the new year? Not sure yet.

Overall, I am pleased with my running, and november was a very solid. I also did a nice 1 mile time trial.

How Do I Feel?

Right now, I feel great. Although I felt a bit fatigued towards the end of the month, since I did put a lot of exercise pressure on myself throughout the month to be consistently exercising. I like the Sundays super easy days, where it was usually over 2 hours of cycling with maybe another cycling session or a very easy run if I felt like it. Though my 18 hour exercise week last week might be the cause of it. Overall, this current week will be a recovery week I think. Maybe keeping around the same running, but decreasing the biking a bit.

Apple Watch Fitness

Something that also motivated me a lot throughout this month was the Apple Watch fitness app. I was able to achieve perfect Month for November award! That meant hitting my move goal (1300 calories move goal that I set when I got this watch). The move goal was pretty ambitious, it usually involved running around 14 miles to get it (or less, but other moving around throughout the day).

I thought I would never get over week, nonetheless I got my move goal for every day of this month!

Awesome!

That also meant my Move Streak hit 31 (started on Halloween!). It was very surprising since it meant this was a very awesome and active month!

For other rewards, I finally got the Perfect Week (Move)! I never got it before, but since this month was intense exercising, I got it for every day of this month, so I got the award 4 times! So awesome! Even more awesome was that I also hit my exercise goal and stand goal every day in this month, so I got Perfect Week all 4 times!!!!! This was really hard since sometimes I fall short of something of a perfect week, such as Stand or Move. But I was very active in November, so I hit all those goals.

So many rewards!

So overall, this is super accomplishing, in terms of that I was very active this month. I probably burned over 3000 calories each day, but probably gained some weight since I ate a lot of good food this month as well. Oh well. Overall, there were no really ‘slack’ days this month which felt awesome.

I am a bit exhausted, so a bit of toning down in exercise would be good for this week. I know it is almost impossible to follow up this super duper perfect month with another perfect one. But hopefully I will minimize slack days and still work hard to improve fitness!
